Flamingos have flown!
We loved having Fall Flocks, but now they’ve moved on for 2025!
Look for them again in Fall 2026 - flock your friends and neighbors for a great cause - supporting grants directly to Melrose educators! Order a flock, and a group of pink yard flamingos will land overnight in your friend or neighbor’s yard and then fly away 24 hours later.
A flock of flamingos in the front yard is a great surprise for anyone to wake up to in the morning. And it’s also a fantastic way to have some fun with your very important donation to the Melrose Ed Foundation. The Foundation is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization and we count on your support.
Here are the details:
Flamingo orders are closed for this season.
Flocks land on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and fly away the following evening.
For your tax-deductible donation you can send a flock of flamingos to a friend or neighbor in Melrose... or to your own yard! Place a separate order for each flock address. Melrose addresses only.
All flock orders are a donation directly to the Melrose Education Foundation to support our grants to Melrose teachers.
FLOCKING Q&A
What are the dates of the fundraiser? The flamingos are scheduled to begin landing on lawns on October 5th.
When will the flamingos land? Will I be notified? Flamingos are scheduled to land on Melrose lawns starting October 5 for approximately 2 or 3 weeks, weekends excluded. Flocks are organized by neighborhood and not by when the order was placed. You will receive an email the morning your flock lands to confirm its arrival. Flocks fly away the following evening.
Where are the flamingos placed? The flamingos will be placed on front lawns unless the address requires something different. Please make a note of this on the order form.
Can I request that they arrive on a specific date? We are not able to accommodate date requests; however, if you know your recipient will be out of town on weekdays between October 5 and October 24, please indicate that on the order form.
My order was delivered to the wrong house, now what? Oh no, our volunteers do their best to make sure the flamingos arrive at the correct lawns, but sometimes mistakes are made. Email us at info@melroseedfoundation.org and after confirming the mix-up, we will arrange to send the flock to the correct location.
Will you tell me who flocked me? Only if you ask! If you send an email to info@melroseedfoundation.org, we’ll happily tell you who sent the flamingos.
